MAKE-UP WORK
- The responsibility of setting up a time to make up missed classwork lies with the student. Any homework or assessments due will go in power school as a zero and will change once the student completes the work and emails me to let me know it is done. There is one extra day for each unexcused absence.
- Any notes or classwork (that is not for a grade), the absent student will need to ask a classmate for materials to copy.
- Students who miss an instruction day will have access to a presentation and video tutorials through the Reveal calendar on their Reveal dashboard. Students will also need to check their email with the information for what we did in class and how to catch up.
- If there is class work that is graded, the student will have 2 days to reach out to me to set up a day to come to my study hall to make up the work. Class work needs to be done at school, not at home.
HOMEWORK
- Homework is a big part of the learning process. Homework is meant to practice what is being covered in class. Although homework will not always be graded, it is expected that your child do homework at home consistently to practice what was taught in class. This is to ensure that your child has a thorough understanding of the problems as we collaborate in class the following day on the next lesson.
- Reveal online assignments and various handouts will be assigned.
CLASS WORK
- Bell work
~ Must be completed in pencil
~ Must be completed during class
- IXLs
~ An email must be sent to me if it is turned in after that before the module test.
~ Students can earn extra credit (up to 3 points) if turned in on time. No extra credit will be given for late IXLs.
- There will be in class activities that are graded based on lessons that have been previously learned. These activities include Gimkit, Kahoot, Quizlet, Scavenger Hunts, etc.
GRADING
Students will earn a grade based on the following categories:
- Formative Assessments
- Summative Assessments
- NO NAME PAPERS - Papers that are turned in with no name are thrown away and cannot receive points. Students are reminded to put names on their work at the beginning and end of class. If it is not important enough to put a name on, it is not important for me to grade.
LATEWORK
- Late work is any assignment that is turned in AFTER 2:45 pm on the due date in POWER SCHOOL, unless it is classwork that is due before you leave the classroom.
- Late work can be turned in, without penalty, until the day of the module test in class (power school) or the end of the quarter, whichever is first.
BATHROOM
- It is in the student's best interest to use the bathroom during passing time. Do not come to my room, go straight to the bathroom and then to my room. Time is wasted when you are backtracking.
- Bathroom use will not be allowed during math instruction time, unless it is an emergency.
- Bathroom passes will be allowed during worktime. Student must fill out the e-hall pass.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
- Consequences
- First Infraction
- Verbal reminder
- Second Infraction
- Seating in different spot
- Third Infraction
- Phone call home and office referral (detention)
- Severe disruptions will be sent to the office immediately, without following the steps.
- Rewards could be ...
- Verbal praise
- Written praise
- Positive phone call to parents
- Extra credit points
- Lunch with teacher
- Candy
- Mechanical pencils
- Chromebook stickers
